History

The Vine cricket pavilion, which is a Grade II listed building built in 1850 is rented by the Sevenoaks Vine Club on behalf of Sevenoaks Vine Cricket Club and Sevenoaks Hockey Club.

Sevenoaks Hockey club (SHC) was formed in 1911 and consists of 11 Men’s sides, of which 2 teams are veterans, and 1 is a youth development squad, and 8 Ladies’ teams, of which 1 is a youth development team. Sevenoaks Hockey Club also runs a large and thriving Junior section. The club’s top sides play National League hockey, with Men and Ladies in the National Division One South. With 18 adult teams and over 700 juniors, the Sevenoaks Hockey Club is one of the most significant sporting organisations in the District. Combining elite sporting performance with a great social scene and a friendly family atmosphere is a credit to all of the 100+ volunteers and helpers who give up their time to make it happen.

Sevenoaks Vine Cricket Club was founded in 1734 and consists of 4 adult teams, a development team and a number of junior leagues including a developing girls section and 3 years as an All Stars centre. SVCC is the only omnipresent club in the Kent Premier League since the inception of that league and participates in the National T20 competition. A robust coaching program has an established record of identifying talent, developing it and providing opportunity for access to the County pathway to First Class cricket and, on occasions, full international status: Steve Smith (Australia), Shan Masood (Pakistan) and most recently Zak Crawley (England).

The building is jointly used by both SVCC and SHC for changing facilities, post match teas and social events.
